Moving to Canada? Open a BMO bank account before your move

Select a BMO branch in Canada to mail these five completed forms to:

  1. Complete with your current bank: Letter of Direction — Banker — Certificate of Identity Request
  2. Complete with your current bank: Certificate of Identity — Banker — Newcomers to Canada Account Open Request
  3. Complete with your lawyer: Letter of Direction — Lawyer/Solicitor — Certificate of Identity Request
  4. Complete with your lawyer: Certificate of Identity — Lawyer/Solicitor — Newcomers to Canada Account Open Request
  5. Complete the form: Request to Open New Personal Primary Chequing Account at BMO Bank of Montreal

After you mail these forms, the BMO branch you selected will mail back your new account documentation, new account number and all BMO Bank of Montreal Agreements. You will need to bring these documents with you to the branch you selected once you arrive in Canada.
