To rent a safety deposit box with BMO, you need to be an existing customer. If you aren’t yet, open a BMO chequing account. From there, follow these easy steps:

Choose box size
Depending on what you’re planning to store, choose the size of box that fits your needs.
Sign verification documents
Once you’ve selected a box, it’s time to sign the verification documents and set up an annual payment through your BMO chequing account.

Safety Deposit Boxes are not insured through the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC). Customers are responsible for arranging any insurance coverage for the contents of their safety deposit box. A branch employee can provide general information on available options.
