My Financial Progress Terms and Conditions and Privacy Terms

These Terms and Conditions and Privacy Terms are effective May 15, 2025.

 

Terms and Conditions

By using the My Financial Progress service (“Service”), you agree that the projections or other information generated regarding the likelihood of various investment outcomes are hypothetical in nature, do not reflect actual investment results, and do not guarantee future results.

By using the Service, you confirm that you are a Canadian resident as results are developed for Canadian residents and using Canadian income tax calculations.

The analysis of your financial goals and needs is based on your financial circumstances, goals, and obligations, and on other information that is automatically populated by Bank of Montreal and its subsidiaries (including BMO Investments Inc.) (together Bank of Montreal and its subsidiaries are referred to here as “BMO”) or manually entered by you. The smallest of changes in the current financial information provided, or not including all your financial information, can have a dramatic impact on the outcome and any inaccurate representation by you of any facts or assumptions used in this illustration invalidates the results. The analysis is also based on assumptions about interest rates, inflation, and other factors. The amount of future income needed is not guaranteed. Changes to the information provided by you or to any of the assumptions can increase or decrease the amount of future income needed as calculated in the analysis. You should review this analysis on a regular basis as your goals and needs change and as interest rates, inflation and other economic conditions change.

This service is for information purposes. The information contained herein is not, and should not be construed as, investment, tax or legal advice to any party. It is important to discuss your financial goals with a BMO employee before purchasing any new BMO product or service. If you purchase a product through a BMO employee, through BMO Online Banking, or the BMO Mobile Banking app, you will be required to provide information to complete ongoing product suitability reviews, needs analyses and other updates as required by law.

BMO investment professional refers to Personal Bankers, Financial Planners, Investment and Retirement Planning and Investment Specialists that are representatives of BMO Investments Inc.

Privacy Terms

Through the Service, BMO will provide you with access to online tools that will perform an analysis of your personal and financial goals. You will be asked to provide information and complete questionnaires that will collect information about your personal and financial circumstances (Personal Information). This Personal Information includes your name, date of birth, province of residence, BMO products and other financial holdings, including balances, assets, and liabilities. If you are an existing BMO customer, some Personal Information BMO holds may be automatically populated within My Financial Progress, and will be refreshed each time you access My Financial Progress. You acknowledge that by providing Personal Information about your spouse or partner and/or dependents, you have obtained their consent to disclose their Personal Information to us for the purposes described in these Privacy Terms.

To provide you with personalized offers for products and services, we may use your Personal Information to contact you about marketing and promotional opportunities relating to BMO or our affiliates. You can stop receiving these emails by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the emails we send to you. We may also use the Personal Information in My Financial Progress to make automated decisions about the products and services we offer you.
