Student banking frequently asked questions
To save on monthly fees for the length of your school program, you have to complete one of the following options:
1. If you’re opening your account at a branch location, make sure you bring proof of your registration of student status.*65
2. If you are opening an account online, simply bring proof of your registration of student status to any branch within six months of opening the account.*65
Your documentation needs to prove your full-time registration in a post-secondary university, college, or registered private vocational school in order to be eligible for student banking. Program benefits will end in the year in which you are scheduled to graduate (maximum of four years). To continue your eligibility for the Program, you must provide proof of expected program completion date or proof of registration by November 30th of the year in which your Program benefits end.

You can continue enjoying student banking for up to additional year after you graduate, just pop into your closest branch before November 30 of the year you graduate and provide proof of graduation – saving you another $215.40 on Plan Fees.*73
If you don’t update your status, regular Plan fees will apply starting in December.
If you’re enrolled in a professional education program – like Accounting or Optometry – you can get special rates and offers. Other professional student programs include: Chiropractic, Law, MBA, Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine.
