How to collect your cash back

  • Redeem your cash back any time for as low as $1 or set up an automatic recurring deposit starting at $25.
  • Easily check your cash back balance as it grows with BMO Online and Mobile banking.
  • Get your cash back rewards by either depositing them into a BMO chequing, savings or InvestorLine account or turning them into a statement credit on your cash back card.
  • Choose how often you want to collect your money: when you’ve earned a recurring, specific amount (e.g. every time you earn $25), or whenever you want a one-time lump sum.

Student FAQs

  • There are a few requirements you need to meet to apply for a student credit card with us.

    • Be a student between the ages of 18 and 24 at a recognized post-secondary school
    • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Are you an international student? You can apply for a BMO credit card by visiting a branch.
    • Have reached the age of majority in the province in which you live (18 years in AB, MB, ON, PE, QC and SK. 19 years in all other provinces)
    • Earn annual income from employment, scholarship/grant, student loan or family allowance
  • Along with convenience, there are a number of reasons why applying for a student credit card makes financial sense:

    • A student card is generally easier to qualify for than other credit cards.
    • You’ll start building a credit history. By using your card and paying it off every month, you’ll show you’re responsible with credit, making it easier to qualify for a loan, line of credit or mortgage in the future.
    • You’ll earn cash back every time your spend.
  • Don’t worry, you can contact us online to report your lost or stolen card. Just sign in to Online Banking, go to the My Accounts page, and choose Lost or Stolen Card from the list of options.
