A recurring transaction allows a biller to withdraw funds from your credit card when payments are due on a recurring basis. This can include:
Your phone bill
Gym membership
Internet
Cable
To cancel recurring transactions on your credit card, you’ll need to contact your subscription company.
You'll start seeing predicted payments after two recurring payments are made to your subscription.
You don’t have to do anything. If you’ve registered your BMO credit card to make recurring payments for a subscription, it’ll automatically show up when you sign in to Online Banking. It’s that simple!
If you'd like to make any changes or you have questions, you'll need to contact the company managing your subscription directly.
If you're at or near your limit on your credit card, you may not have enough funds for your recurring transaction to be withdrawn. You’ll want to make sure that you have the available credit room on your card to make recurring transactions.
Generally, it takes about 4-5 days. When you withdraw money on your credit card, it’s placed on a temporary pre-authorization hold for processing before it’s cleared.
This will depend on the company you’ve set up recurring transactions with, which can vary per subscription. Check your Pre-Authorization Agreement with your subscription company to determine the recurring withdrawal date. After two consecutive transactions, we’ll be able to estimate the suggested date for you as well.
