Dan Adams

In his role as Head, Office of Reconciliation at BMO, Dan helps embed reconciliation into the bank’s culture and decision-making while supporting the implementation of BMO’s Indigenous Strategy, focusing on education, employment and economic empowerment. Through the Office of Reconciliation, Dan works with colleagues across the bank to advance BMO’s response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action 92.  

Dan also serves as Secretary of BMO’s Indigenous Advisory Council, supporting the Council’s efforts to strengthen relationships, foster dialogue, and advance reconciliation across the organization. 

A lifelong resident of Northwestern Ontario, Dan brings more than 27 years of financial services experience to his role. He began his career as a Commercial Account Manager before joining BMO’s Indigenous Banking Unit, where he later served as Vice President. He later assumed leadership of BMO’s Office of Reconciliation, building on a longstanding commitment to strengthening relationships with Indigenous communities and advancing meaningful change across the organization. 

Reconciliation is deeply personal to Dan. As the father of daughters who are Anishinaabe Kwe members of Sagkeeng First Nation, he is committed to fostering greater understanding and respect between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. 

Throughout his career, Dan has received numerous professional recognitions and considers earning the trust and respect of Indigenous friends, family members, clients, and communities his greatest accomplishment. He remains committed to learning about Indigenous cultures, languages, and traditions while helping advance BMO’s commitment to reconciliation.
