Every step supports those who serve: BMO at the 2026 Canada Army Run

From September 18-20, Team BMO joined more than 20,000 participants, volunteers and members of the Canadian Defence Community in Ottawa for the Canada Army Run. It was a weekend grounded in service, camaraderie and community. 

As the Official Bank of the Canadian Defence Community, in partnership with Canadian Forces Morale & Welfare Services (CFMWS), and presenting sponsor of the Canada Army Run, BMO's commitment extends well beyond race weekend. In 2025, Canadian Defence Community BMO customers saved more than $23 million in monthly banking fees. The BMO Support Our Troops Mastercard Program has generated over $1.4 million for CFMWS since 2009, and BMO has committed $3.55 million over the next seven years to support the Canadian Defence community. Together with employment, transition and family supports, these efforts help members of the Defence Community make real financial progress at every stage of their journey.

Team BMO employees, community partners and participants from across the country brought the weekend to life. Visitors explored BMO's Race to Win experience, with game squares representing stages of military life and highlighting a Canadian Defence Community Banking solution. Participants shared what inspires them to run at the What Moves Us activation, and families enjoyed activities in the BMO Kids' Zone. Along the course, Team BMO volunteers and spectators encouraged runners at the BMO cheer stations.
