BMO is committing $3.5 million to the Fondation du Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM Foundation) to support innovative therapies, critical research and patient-centred care across Quebec.

BMO’s funding will support:

  • new options for people facing mood disorders and treatment-resistant substance use conditions
  • the creation of an emergency fund to improve access to non-medical needs – such as transportation or accommodation – for individuals facing financial hardship
  • more sustainable, resilient hospitals
  • new research to advance treatment for pulmonary and thoracic diseases.

CHUM Foundation hosted a recent site visit for BMO leaders in Montreal to help bring to life the impact this donation will have for Quebeckers.

Leaders from BMO and CHUM Foundation discuss BMO’s donation and its impact during a site visit in Montreal.

This donation builds on our broader long-term commitment to healthcare. Over the next 10 years, BMO has pledged more than $49 million to improve access, advance research and strengthen care across Canada.

This is the third large-scale healthcare donation that we’ve announced in 2026:

BMO is proud to work with partners like CHUM to expand access to care, advance research and innovation, and build stronger communities where we work and live.
