What will the renewed BMO and Northern Super League partnership include?
Through the renewed partnership, BMO and the Northern Super League will expand their efforts to strengthen pathways to professional soccer, support the development of girls and women in sport and help retain Canadian talent.
Growing the visibility of women’s professional soccer
BMO will continue as the Official Bank of the Northern Super League and Presenting Sponsor of NSL broadcasts across all platforms. The sponsorship helps increase the league’s visibility and fan engagement while supporting its reach across Canada.
Creating pathways to professional soccer
BMO and the Northern Super League will continue developing legacy programs designed to create opportunities for athletes and strengthen pathways to professional soccer. The partnership supports a shared vision for women’s soccer in Canada that extends from grassroots participation and player development to professional competition and career opportunities throughout the sport.
Supporting future leaders through BMO Next Gen
The renewed partnership will also continue to support opportunities beyond the field through programs such as BMO Next Gen.
Each year, one aspiring female sports media student is selected through a nationwide recruitment process to receive mentorship and exclusive behind-the-scenes access to NSL Media Day and the NSL Championship Final. The program is designed to help develop future leaders in sports media and broadcasting while increasing representation across the industry.
Investing in the future of soccer in Canada
The renewal builds on BMO’s recent partnership with Canada Soccer as its Official and Exclusive Banking and Financial Services Partner and training kit sponsor across the National Teams.
For more than 20 years, BMO has supported soccer across North America through partnerships spanning grassroots programs, youth development, professional clubs and national organizations.
In addition to the Northern Super League, BMO's soccer partnerships include Canada Soccer, Toronto FC, CF Montréal, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, and LAFC. BMO also supports grassroots soccer through organizations including Ontario Soccer, BC Soccer, Québec Soccer, and the Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Association. Together with BMO Soccer Ambassadors Alphonso Davies and Julia Grosso, these partnerships help create opportunities for players and fans while investing in the future of the sport at all levels.
