This Earth Day, BMO took action to bring to life our Purpose to grow a sustainable future and stronger communities by supporting environmental sustainability and community well-being. Take a look at how BMO celebrated Earth Day below! 

Supporting sustainable pediatric care at CHEO 

BMO announced a $2 million donation to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) to support sustainability initiatives focused on low‑carbon healthcare and future‑ready infrastructure. 

The announcement was made during Leading the Future of Sustainable Care: An Earth Day Celebration of Collective Impact, held at CHEO and attended by BMO leaders, CHEO partners and employees. The event highlighted the growing importance of addressing climate-related risks within the healthcare system, and celebrated organizations working to reduce environmental impacts while delivering essential community services. The investment will support emission‑tracking tools and energy‑efficient redevelopment efforts on CHEO’s campus that will help advance more sustainable pediatric care for generations to come. 

Representatives from BMO, CHEO and CHEO Foundation gathered at CHEO toannoucea $2 million donation toward sustainability initiatives.

Celebrating Earth Day on the North Coast of California 

On Earth Day, a group of BMO leaders participated in a field visit with Parks California, California State Parks and the Yurok Tribe along California’s North Coast. The visit showcased climate restoration efforts, tribal partnership, coastal resilience and innovative stewardship models shaping the future of public lands. 

Guided by Parks California and welcomed by the Yurok Tribe, the group explored sites where restoration, conservation and Indigenous leadership are advancing both environmental outcomes and community resilience, reflecting BMO’s longstanding partnerships that support inclusive and sustainable growth. 

Representatives from BMO, Parks California, California State Parks and the Yurok Tribe gathered at State Park along Califorinia's North Coast.
