Helen Killoch

Chief Auditor, BMO Financial Group

Ms. Killoch was appointed Chief Auditor for the Bank of Montreal in June 2024. She provides executive leadership to BMO’s staff of audit professionals, identifying insights into current, emerging, and potential issues, trends, and opportunities that will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the company and its control processes. She also liaises extensively with external regulators, ensuring the bank’s audit organization practices and employees continually evolve to meet heightened regulatory expectations.

Ms. Killoch brings a strong track record as a finance leader. After working in public accounting, she joined BMO Financial Group in 2001 and held positions of increasing responsibility in Finance. In 2011, Ms. Killoch was appointed Chief Accountant of Bank of Montreal and oversaw various functions including its financial governance, consolidated financial reporting and regulatory reporting. In this role, she was also responsible for compliance with accounting regulations including IFRS, Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (Canada) and the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission. Ms. Killoch spent four years as Chief Financial Officer of the Technology & Operations and Strategy & Operations and her most recent position was Chief Financial Officer of Wealth Management groups where she was responsible for driving strategic priorities, advising the business with respect to financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, and providing strong financial governance.

Ms. Killoch served as Chair and Director of several Bank of Montreal subsidiaries. In addition, Ms. Killoch serves as a Director of the Alzheimer’s Society of Toronto and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.

Ms. Killoch holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant.
