Mike Bonner

In his capacity as Head, Canadian Personal and Business Banking Distribution, Mike focuses on strengthening relationships with and among BMO stakeholders, including team members, colleagues, and clients. He assumed this role in 2019, having spent the previous 15 years fulfilling a diverse spectrum of other roles for the bank and earning a consistent track record of performance along the way. 

Mike attended Dalhousie University where he completed his Master of Business Administration Finance before embarking on his career with BMO. He began with the mortgage line of business before transitioning across multiple segments of the enterprise and eventually landing his first executive appointment as District Vice President, Nova Scotia, in 2007. In 2014, he became Regional President, BC & Yukon – a position he held until assuming his current role. 

Mike has served on several foundations and boards across Canada, including but not limited to Mental Health and BMO Mortgage Corp. He is currently on the board of Northstar Trade Finance and Northstar Europe. 

Mike serves as the first Indigenous Advisory Council (IAC) Co-Chair, representing BMO Financial Group.
