Paul Noble

General Counsel, BMO Financial Group

Paul Noble is General Counsel of BMO Financial Group and leads the bank’s legal and regulatory compliance groups, with responsibility for corporate governance, banking regulation and supervision, and litigation. He also oversees the bank’s ethics, customer complaint appeals and investigations practices, chairs the enterprise regulatory and reputation risk committees and is a member of BMO’s Executive Committee.

 

Since joining BMO in 2003, Paul has held a number of leadership roles across BMO’s legal and regulatory compliance group, most recently Chief Legal Officer, Enterprise Legal and Corporate Secretary. Previously, Paul was Chief Legal & Compliance Officer, BMO Capital Markets, Chief Legal Officer, Wealth Management and U.S. General Counsel.

 

Paul is a longstanding champion of the communities BMO serves, having held leadership roles with BMO’s inclusion strategies along with sitting on the board of the Canadian Foundation For AIDS Research and a past board member of Toronto-area community agency, The 519.

 

Paul joined BMO from Torys LLP, an international law firm. He received his Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, Canada.
