BMO Nations’ Cup and Equestrian Sport
As the founding sponsor of Spruce Meadows, BMO Financial Group has a long and proud history of supporting equestrian sport in Canada. Since 1977, BMO has sponsored the BMO Nations’ Cup at Spruce Meadows, attracting the top international show jumping teams to compete in Canada. In addition, BMO proudly sponsors Canadian Equestrian Team member, Ian Millar.

BMO Bank of Montreal has been the title sponsor of one of Vancouver’s oldest health and fitness-related events, the BMO Vancouver Marathon for the past seven years. In 2013, there were over 16,000 triumphant runners and walkers from 43 countries taking part in the full and half marathon races. BMO is proud to be aligned with a community-based event that is well-loved by spectators and participants alike.

Calgary Stampede

BMO Financial Group is proud to be a Champion level partner with the Calgary Exhibition & Stampede. This level of sponsorship includes the naming rights to the BMO Centre trade and convention facility.

During Stampede, BMO has a 10-Day Kids’ Zone on park. This area focuses on family entertainment and western fun during park hours. Also, BMO Power of Blue is activated at the main gates and and through our BMO MasterCard booths. BMO Customers will be given priority lines to enter the Stampede as well as an opportunity to receive discounts on park by using their BMO Debit or BMO MasterCard.

The extensive partnership between BMO Financial Group and Calgary Stampede, which began when BMO became the Stampede's official banker in 1912, includes the continuation of title sponsorships of the BMO Farm Family Awards, honouring the contribution of those working in the agriculture industry and BMO Kids Day, which brings out more than 25,000 people annually for a free pancake breakfast and plenty of fun family entertainment.

BMO - Official Bank of the Toronto Raptors

On October 30, 2013, BMO announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement that makes BMO the Official Bank of the Toronto Raptors NBA franchise. The agreement builds on a long-time partnership between BMO and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. As title sponsor, BMO will have a strong brand presence throughout the Air Canada Centre, on the court, as well as broadcast and online. The popularity of basketball in Canada is on the rise with a 19% increase in television viewership over the past year and an estimated 6.7 million fans across the country. Through this sponsorship, BMO will reach a large base of new and existing customers and extend the BMO brand to an important and growing Canadian demographic.

Canadian Hockey League

BMO Financial Group and the Canadian Hockey League announced BMO as the Official Bank of the Canadian Hockey League in 2011. The four-year agreement also designates BMO as the Official Bank of each of the CHL's member hockey leagues: the Ontario Hockey League, the Western Hockey League, and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The sponsorship builds on BMO's partnership with the CHL of more than 10 years and affirms BMO's exclusivity as a financial services sponsor of the league in the retail banking category. It also engrains a presence with the 48 teams who currently participate in the BMO CHL Affinity MasterCard program, which enables CHL fans to support their favourite teams through branded credit cards.

The BMO Ultimate Fan Contest is part of several special fan appreciation initiatives taking place during BMO's third year as the Official Bank of the CHL. Other CHL events during BMO-focused initiatives take place during the league's national marquee events: the MasterCard Memorial Cup, the Subway Super Series and the Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. BMO also incorporates the BMO Power of Blue program - which provides special perks to BMO customers each week at CHL hockey games across Canada, including the opportunity to win a pre-loaded MasterCard - in 48 arenas across Canada that are home to CHL's member teams.

Between October 13 and December 6, 2013, BMO Ultimate CHL Fan Appreciation Night was held in 42 communities across Canada. Forty-two BMO Ultimate CHL Fans were crowned in their respective communities. From these winners, three Ultimate Fans will be named the BMO Ultimate CHL Fan for each of their respective leagues – the OHL, WHL, and QMJHL – and will receive the grand prize trip to London, Ontario in May 2014 for the MasterCard Memorial Cup.

In 1989, BMO Financial Group became a Founding Sponsor of Kids Help Phone, Canada’s online and phone counselling service for youth. Every day, young people ages 5-20 from communities across Canada reach out to the professional counsellors at Kids Help Phone. It’s free, anonymous and confidential, and always there, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The money we raise goes to support this essential, bilingual service, ensuring the 6.5 million young people in Canada have access to the help and hope they need, when they need it most.

A prize of $20,000 is awarded annually in the spring at a luncheon co-hosted by BMO and PricewaterhouseCoopers. The winners are determined by a panel of prominent individuals from the business and academic sectors.

BMO has been a supporter of the Ontario Plowmen's Association's International Plowing Match and Rural Expo since 2007. The sponsorship has since evolved into a four-year partnership, announced in 2012, whereby BMO is the Presenting Partner from 2012 to 2016 inclusive. As part of the partnership, BMO introduced the inaugural BMO Farm Family Awards in Ontario in 2012. Recognizing farm families is an integral part of BMO's commitment to agriculture.

Toronto FC

BMO is the premier partner and jersey sponsor of Toronto FC, supporting the team since their 2007 inaugural season. At home, Toronto FC plays at BMO Field, Canada’s first soccer-specific stadium. BMO Kickin’ with TFC is a youth program which helps kids fundraise for their club and take part in exciting pre-match activities.

Montreal Impact

BMO is also the premier sponsor of the Montreal Impact and proudly has its BMO logo on the jersey. BMO sponsors the Team Up with the Impact program, supporting youth soccer players from the grass up.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC

As the first Founding Partner of Vancouver Whitecaps FC, BMO sponsors the Kickin’ with the ‘Caps program, integrating youth soccer players into each home match while providing BC soccer clubs the opportunity to fundraise.

BMO Team of the Week

BMO® Team of the Week is a contest that rewards youth soccer teams that display team pride, spirit, community commitment and passion for the game. Youth soccer teams across the country between the ages of 7-12 are eligible to win $125,000 to refurbish their community soccer field, a trip for the whole team and other great weekly prizes.

Cycle for Sight

 

Cyle for Sight
Cycle for Sight is a one-day fundraiser to support the Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB), Canada's leading charity funding vision research to end blindness. BMO is a founding sponsor of the event, as well as a corporate sponsor of the FFB. The ride has raised more than $1.6 million for sight saving research since 2009. This year there are Cycle for Sight events in Toronto, Ottawa, and Vancouver.

BMO is proud to support Polo for Heart, taking place annually at The Toronto Polo Club in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Polo for Heart has brought players from around the world and has raised funds for heart and stroke related charities for over 34 years. This exciting event features two international polo matches each day, as well as boutiques, a silent auction, half-time entertainment, the traditional champagne divot stomp, and a BMO Kids' Zone with fun activities for kids.

Pride and Remembrance Run

 

Pride and Remembrance Run
BMO is the Presenting Sponsor of the Pride and Remembrance Run, an annual five-kilometre fundraising run/walk for lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgendered (LGBT) charities in the Greater Toronto area. It has become an annual tradition promoting and fostering community spirit, goodwill, volunteerism and sportsmanship in the LGBT community.
