Nandita Bakhshi

Nandita Bakhshi was previously Special Advisor on Integration, BMO Bank N.A. She also formerly held the roles of President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of the West and co-Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas USA, Inc. 

Prior to joining Bank of the West, Ms. Bakhshi worked at TD Bank, where she held several leadership positions, including Executive Vice President and Head of North American Direct Channels. In that role, she was responsible for driving innovation in direct and electronic channels to improve digital adoption and provide customers a unified banking experience. Earlier, she served as Executive Vice President and Head of Consumer Banking at TD Bank in the U.S. 

Before TD Bank, Ms. Bakhshi was Executive Vice President of Consumer Deposits and Payments at Washington Mutual in Seattle (acquired by JP Morgan Chase). She also held leadership positions at FleetBoston (acquired by Bank of America), and First Data (acquired by Fiserv). She started her banking career as a part-time teller at a regional bank in upstate New York. 

Ms. Bakhshi is a member of the FDIC Advisory Committee on Economic Inclusion and the Federal Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Board. She also serves on the Boards of Directors of Grameen America and the US India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF), and is a member of the Supervisory Boards of The Clearing House and The Clearing House Payments Company. 

Ms. Bakhshi’s leadership has been frequently recognized, and she has been named on Barron’s list of the 100 Most Influential Women in U.S. Finance, Forbes’ 50 over 50 list, and American Banker’s list of the Most Powerful Women in Banking. The San Francisco Business Times has also recognized her as one of the Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business and in 2017 honored her with the inaugural Inspire Award for women who are leading their companies with creativity, integrity, and strategic vision. 

Ms. Bakhshi holds a Master of Arts in international relations from Jadavpur University and a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Calcutta.
