Growing the Good in our communities through education: 2026 BMO scholarship recipients

In fall 2026, ten students will each receive CDN$10,000 through the BMO200 William A. Downe Scholarship, helping to relieve some of the costs of a post-secondary education so the students can focus on their studies, extracurricular activities – and achieving their educational goals. 

Each recipient is a child or legal ward of a BMO employee entering their first year of a post-secondary degree or diploma program. Recipients were selected by the Loran Scholars Foundation for demonstrated academic achievement, community involvement and leadership potential.

The BMO200 William A. Downe Scholarship Program was created in 2017 to mark the end of a year-long celebration of BMO's bicentennial -- and pay tribute to Bill Downe's 10 years as Chief Executive Officer, recognizing his strong support of education.
