San Francisco’s young adults face some of the city’s toughest challenges—barriers like foster care transition, justice involvement, trauma and housing instability. Too often, these obstacles mean limited access to education, employment and the support needed to build a future and thrive.

GLIDE’s new Transitional Age Youth Healing & Wellness Center, made possible through significant investment from the City and County of San Francisco, BMO, and community partners, is designed to change that. The center offers 24/7 access to mental health care, education, job training and individualized support for young adults ages 18-27.

At its heart is the TAY Workforce Readiness Program, strengthened by BMO as the Lead Corporate Funder. BMO’s $1 million grant over five years will enable GLIDE to deliver critical wraparound supports that were previously unfunded – including case management, social emotional learning and counseling – expanding the program’s reach and deepening its impact.

"We know young people can thrive if someone gives them a chance.  Extending opportunities is a way to say, ‘I believe in you, I see your potential, you are precious to this community.’  When you offer services alongside unconditional love, that’s how you transform lives.”

- Dr. Gina Fromer, President & CEO, GLIDE

The program will serve young adults through a flexible model that includes 12-week cohorts and drop-in modules. At least 75 percent of participants are expected to complete the workforce readiness training each year, and by the end of each cycle, 40 to 60 percent will transition to employment, paid internships, formal job training or post-secondary education.

GLIDE’s holistic model also provides ongoing coaching and support, helping alumni achieve long-term stability and wage growth.

“GLIDE’s new center is more than a building, it’s a launchpad for young people navigating some of life’s toughest transitions,” said Amr Guendia, U.S. Managing Director, BMO Commercial Bank as he delivered remarks at the ribbon cutting event. “Whether facing barriers like foster care transition, justice involvement, trauma or housing instability, young adults will find not just support, but opportunity: access to education, job training and a community that believes in their potential.”

Congratulations to the GLIDE team, the City of San Francisco, and all the partners who made this center possible. BMO is proud to be part of your journey.
