Help with Tax Payment & Filing

A fast, easy and secure way to file and pay government taxes online such as:

  • payroll source deductions
  • corporate income tax
  • GST
  • PST
  • Harmonized GST and PST

Payments are made from your BMO Bank of Montreal account through the Tax Payment & Filing (Can-Act) site.

To use this service, you must have at least one eligible account with bill payment functionality linked to your BMO Debit Card for Business. If you do not have an account that permits bill payments linked to your BMO Debit Card for Business, please speak to an Account Manager at your branch.

Payments

Payments must be entered no later than midnight local time the day before the due date in order for the payment to be received on time. For example, if your payments are due tomorrow, you must enter them today before midnight or earlier. Payments made on the due date will be late and may be subject to government penalties.

If your payment due date falls on a weekend or holiday, you should enter the payment at least 2 business days before the due date to ensure the payment is received on time.

Payment & Filing Service (PFS) ID

You will be provided with a Payment & Filing Service (PFS) ID when you register for the Tax Payment & Filing service. Your PFS ID is displayed in the Tax Payment & Filing section of Online Banking.

Please provide your PFS ID when contacting us through email or by phone with Tax Payment & Filing inquiries.
