Help with Future Dated Bill Payments

All setups and deletions of future dated bill payments must be completed no later than 11 p.m. (ET) the day before the scheduled payment date.

The sum of your dated and future dated bill payments for a particular day may not exceed your daily electronic bill payment limit.

Future dated bill payments from a BMO MasterCard for Business or BMO Line of Credit (LOC)

The daily electronic bill payment limit does not apply if the payment is applied to a BMO MasterCard for Business or BMO Line of Credit. The payment will be made if there is available credit on the BMO Line of Credit or BMO MasterCard for Business on the scheduled payment date.

Overdraft Protection and Overdraft Transfer

Overdraft Protection will cover future dated bill payments as long as the amount to be paid does not exceed your overdraft limit.

Overdraft Transfer does not cover future dated bill payments.

Deleting a payee(s)

If you delete a payee, any future dated payments that you have setup for this payee account will automatically be cancelled. Future dated bill payments for your other payee accounts will not be affected.

Payments scheduled on weekends or holidays

The funds for your future dated bill payment must be in your account on the scheduled bill payment date even if this falls on a weekend or holiday. Your payment will be posted to your account on the following business day.

The date your payee account is credited will depend on the individual payee's policy. Please allow up to 5 business days for the payment to be posted to your payee account.

Future dated bill payment reference number

When you set up a future dated bill payment, you are provided with a confirmation number that lets you know that the future dated payment has been set up. This number will be sent to you through My Messages. This is not the same as your bill payment confirmation number and does not confirm that a bill payment has been processed.

Bill payment confirmation number

A bill payment confirmation number is issued once the payment is processed through your account. This number will display in My Payment History.
