What’s not covered?
This insurance does not cover accidental death from injury caused by or resulting from: suicide or self-inflicted injury; injury received while under the influence of drugs or alcohol; injury occurring while committing a criminal act or consequent upon war or while serving on active duty in any armed forces; injury received while flying, other than as a fare-paying passenger; injury caused by participating in racing, scuba-diving, sky-diving, parachuting, hang-gliding, rock or mountain-climbing or bungee jumping; or injury occurring in the workplace while working as a high steel construction worker, an underground miner, an oil rig worker, a power line worker or a logger. Accidental injury does not include any sickness, illness, disease, medical disorder or medical treatments.
The Accidental Death Benefit Insurance Plan provides individual coverage and is only available to residents of Canada. For the complete terms and conditions of your policy, please refer to your Policy Contract that will be sent to you upon enrollment. One policy per person.
The maximum total accidental death coverage provided per life insured by BMO Life Assurance Company is $500,000.
