Now there's a more convenient way to pay. PayPass is perfect for purchases at the movie theatre, grocery store, coffee shop or gas station, and can be used anywhere PayPass is accepted.

It's Convenient

MasterCard PayPass is a payment feature included on BMO credit cards¹ for no additional fee. PayPass lets you pay for your purchases at merchants with PayPass terminals without having to swipe your card. Simply "Tap" your BMO MasterCard with PayPass on the terminal and away you "Go".

How does PayPass work?

Your BMO MasterCard with PayPass uses technology that communicates with the MasterCard PayPass terminal. When you wave or tap your card against the terminal, payment details are wirelessly transmitted and your transaction is automatically completed. The PayPass feature has a very limited range requiring the card to be waved or tapped close to the reader for increased security.

Some merchants may forego giving receipts in the interest of speed and convenience. You can request a receipt if you prefer.

PayPass transactions appear on your BMO MasterCard statement.
