Capital Markets named the 2009 Best Bank for the Canadian
Dollar by FX Week Magazine
November
20, 2009 – BMO Capital Markets, the investment and corporate
banking arm of BMO Financial Group, has been named the
Best Bank for the Canadian Dollar by FX Week Magazine..
This
is the first time BMO Capital Markets has received this
honour, which is determined by votes from foreign exchange
market professionals around the world. The FX Week Best
Bank Awards are presented annually in London, U.K. during
November.

the FX Week Best Bank Awards are the most accurate
indicator of who is leading the forex marketplace,” said

2009 – BMO Financial Group (BMO) has been selected for
the fifth consecutive year for inclusion in the Dow Jones
Sustainability (DJSI) North America Index. This recognition
places BMO in the leading 20% in terms of sustainability
of the 600 biggest North American companies in the Dow
Jones World Index. |

recognized as a global leader in climate disclosure
September
21, 2009 – BMO Financial Group has been named as one
of the highest scoring companies in the world, and the
only Canadian bank, in the Global 500 Carbon Disclosure
Leadership Index for 2009. This is the second year in
a row that BMO – a long-time signatory to the Carbon
Disclosure Project (CDP) - has been included on this
prestigious list.
The
Index, created by the CDP, is comprised of companies
based worldwide that show distinction in their reporting
of greenhouse gas emissions and climate change strategies.
Index members are distinguished by their comprehensiveness
of disclosure and level of understanding of the risks
and opportunities presented to their businesses by climate
change.

April
2009 – BMO Capital Markets placed first in the 2009 Thomson
Reuters StarMine Canadian analyst awards. StarMine is
an independent firm that measures the performance of
analysts based on the returns of their stock picking
recommendations and the accuracy of their earnings estimates.
The 2009 awards apply to 2008 calendar-year performance
and estimates for Canadian-based companies in 20 sectors.
In an exceptionally volatile year, BMO Capital Markets
won the award for Top Broker by collecting 17 individual
awards.

BMO
Capital Markets wins FX Awards in China
March
2009 – BMO’s Guangzhou branch was named “Most Popular
Market Maker” in 2008 – as determined by a popularity
vote among market makers. The three runners up were all
Chinese banks – Industrial Bank of China, Bank of China
and Bank of Communications.
BMO
was also named "Best Market Maker" for 2008. This award,
which is determined by the China Foreign Exchange Trade
System (CFETS), takes into account technical indices/indicators,
market votes and scoring by regulators. BMO was the only
foreign bank to win this award.
In
addition, BMO was the only bank to be awarded "Best non-USD
Market Maker” in 2008, as we have the largest share of
volume in non-USD CNY crosses.
