Greater Toronto's Top Employers is an annual competition
organized by Mediacorp Canada Inc.’s, the editors of
Canada's Top 100 Employers. This special designation
recognizes the Greater Toronto employers that lead their
industries in offering exceptional places to work.

Aboriginal Relations Award – Gold Level Standing
The
Canadian Council of Aboriginal Business (CCAB) honoured
BMO in 2008 with a gold level standing in the Progressive
Aboriginal Relations (PAR) award for initiating Aboriginal
community economic development. PAR provides a framework
for business to examine their approach to the emerging
Aboriginal marketplace and gives them tools to help improve
their performance. The PAR Award included a rigorous
evaluation of BMO’s employment practices for Aboriginal
people including recruitment, retention and promotion.

October
30, 2008 - BMO Financial Group collected three Global
Six Sigma & Business Improvement Awards at a gala
presentation in Orlando, Florida on October 15th,
including the Platinum Award for Most Outstanding Organizational
Achievement, the top award from amongst all companies
nominated in all categories.

the fourth consecutive year for inclusion in the Dow
Jones Sustainability (DJSI) North America Index. This

Financial Group Distinguished as an Energy-Efficiency Trailblazer
May
2, 2008 - BMO was awarded the Uptime Institute 2008 Green
Enterprise IT Award for IT Hardware Asset Utilization.
The award recognizes the success of a cross-business
team from the bank’s Technology and Operations division
in reducing power consumption and improving energy efficiency
in the data centre. Specifically, the team managed to
save a total of 526 kilowatts of power through the elimination
of 409 servers, 40 peripheral devices and two storage
subsystems.
