BMO Social Media Terms of Use

BMO’s Social Media Pages are designed for you to discuss BMO, its products and services and to learn, connect and engage with us.

The following terms apply to any of the social media websites, accounts, pages, accounts, and applications established or administered by Bank of Montreal (BMO) and its affiliates (collectively, the Social Media Pages).

By accessing the Social Media Pages or submitting a comment or content (including a photo, video or other materials) to a Social Media Page, you agree to be bound by these terms along with those of any third parties that host the Social Media Pages.

Community Posting Terms

• Please respect other users of the Social Media Page. Do not post any comments or other content that could be inappropriate, abusive or otherwise offensive.
• Do not post or submit personal or confidential information about yourself or others. Please remember that the Social Media Pages are public.
• To the extent any personal information is collected through the Social Media Pages, it will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Code.
• Do not use the Social Media Pages to promote yourself or your business or submit content that contains advertising, solicitation, “spam” or junk mail content or references to other websites.
• Please respect intellectual property and other third party rights. Do not post or submit any third party materials unless you have first obtained consent from the owners of such materials.
• Do not submit content that includes images, photos or likenesses of individuals without first obtaining the written consent from every identifiable person (or their parent or legal guardian if they are under the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence).
• You (and your parent or legal guardian if you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence) (i) grant BMO and its affiliates in perpetuity a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to publish, display, reproduce, modify, or otherwise use any of your submitted content (in any format and media) for any reason; and (ii) waive all moral rights in and to the submitted content to BMO (and anyone authorized by BMO to use such content).
• BMO reserves the right to remove any content from the Social Media Pages that does not adhere to these terms of use, or that in its sole discretion, considers objectionable.

• BMO may change these terms of use at any time without notice at its sole discretion.
